Royal Pride Marching Band

The McKinney High School Royal Pride Marching Band includes all wind, percussion, and guard students in the band program. The Royal Pride Band continues a legacy of great traditions, pride, discipline, and excellence.  The marching band performs at MHS pep rallies, varsity football games, selected marching contests, and community events.  Marching Band students will receive half a physical education credit for the fall semester.  In 2015, the marching band made its debut performance at the Texas UIL State Marching Contest and consistently competes at the Area level. Participation in the marching band is required. Students will receive half a P.E. credit for marching band during fall semester and Fine Arts credit for the full year.

Required Materials for rehearsal

  • Appropriate clothing for rehearsals (shorts, t-shirt, athletic shoes)

  • Water jug

  • Flip folder with all music

  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc. as needed
